Department of Conservation is Hiring an ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST Near Sacramento, CA

Under the general direction of the Senior Engineering Geologist, the Engineering Geologist (EG) serves as the Forest and Watershed Geologist on a team of regulators and specialists responsible for the enforcement of forestry-related laws and regulations. The EG reviews forestry-related plans, maps local and regional geologic and geomorphic features, and analyzes and/or models the role of rainfall related to slope stability. This position requires an individual capable of working both independently and as a member of a team, the ability to work under pressure, and possession of a high degree of knowledge and expertise in reviewing and analyzing geologic and engineering reports.

ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION: If new to California state service, you will need to have taken and passed the examination for this classification in order to be hired for this position. If you are a current state employee, but do not have transfer eligibility or list eligibility, you will need to have taken and passed the examination for this classification in order to be hired for this position. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Working Conditions

This position is located in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must reside in California and be able to satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely.
